Courage is defined as “the ability to do something that is frightening or strength in the face of pain or grief.” Every day we have a choice to make, will we choose courage or will we choose fear? It takes courage to let go of the past and move on, it takes courage to step out of our comfort zones into the unknown, it takes courage to forgive, courage to love, and even courage to pursue your dreams, especially if it’s a dream that God has planted into your heart. God speaks of courage in the Bible. One of my favorites says this, “Have I not commanded you? Be Strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you may go.” – Joshua 1:9 So that’s it, Go actually commands us to be courageous and tells us that He will walk faithfully with us every step of the way. Just knowing this truth, should embolden us to face anything that might be around the corner next.
I don’t know about life for you right now, but for me, it seems like every aspect of my life needs a good dose of courage lately. I am in need of courage to trust God with my teens. I mean, are they going to make the right decisions in life, what will they choose to devote their life to, who will they choose to spend the rest of their life with, and will they be OK when they leave our home? I need courage in trusting God to provide and I even need courage in the unknowns of my future. It takes a leap of faith to be courageous in life. I found this cool quote by Ambrose Redmoon that says, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important that fear.” So today I am going to choose that trusting God is the safest choice for me. I am going to believe God’s word and rest in His loving arms. I am praying you will do the same!
Sending you BIG HUGS filled with Hope!
